Paper craft project no. 317: Enjoy today one layer card

Hello! Here’s a quickie post to remind you that we’re mid-way through the current challenge at Time Out, where we’re CASEing a card made by the super-talented Amy Wanford. For my card, I went all red (!) — it’s my way of trying to get over the winter blues. Even though winter doesn’t officially start until December 23, I’ve been feeling it for the last 3 weeks. I’m not liking the gray days and foggy days at all, and I am missing the sun way too much! And so the cards I’ve been making lately have bright colors :o)

How I CASEd Amy’s card: sentiment (big and small combo), focal image (butterfly instead of a cloud), border (red border with a painterly look)
My twist: non-wintery, bright red colors, and one layer…of course!

The stamps I used are all from STAMPlorations – The grungy splashes and ink blots are from Holiday Artsy and the graphic butterfly and sentiment are from the newly released Trendy Butterflies (it’s a set that stamp club subscribers get for free!)

Let it Snow

Paper craft project no. 316: Merry Christmas one layer card

Hey, everyone! We have a new challenge this week at The Crafter’s Cafe Challenge. Our theme this week is…yep, you guessed it — Christmas! I used the holly square digi provided by our sponsor, Eureka Stamps, to create my one layer card. I printed the image on cardstock, colored it with Chameleon pens, then trimmed the cardstock to size. I masked the image before stamping the poinsettias and sentiment. I applied a bit of green shabby shutters Distress ink along the edges to finish the card. I hope you’ll come check out the projects that my teammates created and then play along. I should also mention that this is my last project for the team, as I decided it’s time to step down. I’m sure I’ll be playing in the challenges, though, because it’s a great place to play and my teammates are simply awesome! :o)

Linking my card to these fun challenges: (1) Addicted to Stamps and More #125 – Photo Inspiration (I was inspired by the red, green, and gold); (2) Paper Creators Crafts #33 – All About Christmas; and (3) Crafty Cardmakers and more #129 – Christmas.

Paper craft project no. 312: You’re a dear friend one layer card

Hello! It’s time for a new challenge at Time Out Challenges and this time, we’re doing the CASE with Your Own Twist Challenge. We’re CASEing the talented Amy Wanford of Crafting Confessions. Here’s the card she made:

I was inspired by the two rows of snowflakes and hearts, as well as the sentiment so I went with that and stamped the butterfly in turquoise and the flower in pink. The sentiment is from the new stamp club set at STAMPlorations called Sugar Rush and I stamped it in black. I finished the card with an artsy border using a pink Japanese watercolor brush pen. So my twist is pretty obvious: a non-winter/holiday one layer card :o) I hope you’ll come check out what my teammates created and how they were inspired by Amy’s card! We’re joined by another talented crafter, Milla of Mustesormi. We can’t wait to see how you’ll CASE Amy’s card!

Thanks for stopping by!

Paper craft project no. 306: Sweet friend one layer card

It’s time for a new sketch challenge at the STAMPlorations blog. It’s the last sketch challenge for the year and we’re making it a long one! The linky is open until December 28 and there’s no limit to how many times you can play. Oh, and we have a couple of extra special prizes too! Julie Beech of Crafted by Jules is our guest designer. I hope you’ll come check out the projects that Julie and the STAMPlorations girls made for the sketch!

For my one layer card, I stamped one of the trendy butterflies (new set!) and masked it before stamping the artsy sunflower and smaller butterfly. The sentiment is from Sugar Rush, the December/January stamp club set. I spattered a bit of mustard seed and faded jeans Distress inks and finished the card by running the side of my Japanese watercolor brush pen to create the artsy blue border. The card is rather bright for the season — and I did it because I was getting a little tired of the gloomy days and I needed something with bright, happy colors :o)

Linking up my card to these fun challenges: (1) Crafting When We Can #83 – Clean and Simple; (2) A Little Bit Crafty – CAS; (3) Sister Act #84 – Anything Goes; and (4) Clear It Out – Anything Goes.

Thanks for stopping by!

Paper craft project no. 300: Joyful wishes one layer card

Hello! Popping by today with a one layer card for the current challenge at Time Out Challenges, where it’s a Home Sweet Home Photo Inspiration challenge. We hope you can play with us…you have a week more to share your projects! Here’s the photo:

I was inspired by the wooden floor and crate so I mimicked those by scoring (embossing) the lower portion of my card base and then swiping various Distress inks (vintage photo, brushed corduroy, walnut stain) over it. Next, I stamped the gift image and colored with Chameleon Color Tones alcohol markers. I then masked it before stamping the holiday words in VersaMagic chalk ink (aegean blue). And the card is done :o)

Linking up my card to these fun challenges: (1) Stamping Sensations November Challenge – Simply Christmas; (2) Crafting When We Can #82 – Use Your Markers; (3) Love to Create #141 – Anything Goes; (4) Addicted to Stamps and More #121 – Anything Goes; and (5) Creative Card Crew #74 – Christmas Joy.

Paper craft project no. 295: Celebrate one layer card

It’s the first Monday of the month, which means we have a new sketch challenge over at the STAMPlorations blog. Joining the STAMPlorations girls is guest designer Ingrid of Ingrid’s Craft Corner. We hope you’ll stop by the blog and see how we interpreted the sketch. And we’d love for you to play along! The challenge is open until Friday, November 14, and the winner gets to guest design in a future sketch challenge.

I went clean and simple and one layer to create this happy card. Stamped the circles and squares from the Retro Mod Shapes set in various Memento and VersaMagic inks and stamped the big sketchy sentiment and brush/crayon stamp in jet black ink.

Linking up my card to the following fun challenges: Seize the Birthday – Anything Goes; Addicted to Stamps and More #119 – CAS; and Allsorts Challenge #282 – Masculine;

Thanks for stopping by!
