Paper craft project no. 311: Follow your bliss

Sharing a card I made this morning using a fun technique. I have a short photo tutorial over at the STAMPlorations blog if you’d like to see how I created the background.

Linking up my card to the following fun challenges: (1) Virginia’s View Challenge #10 – All Things Distressed (I used Distress inks and distressed the edges of the panel with the stamped sentiment); and (2) A Little Bit Crafty – Anything Goes…but not Christmas.

This card also doubles as a reminder for the current challenge at The Mixed Media Card Challenge. This month’s theme is “home” and the optional element is “lace”. The theme is pretty broad — and as you can see from my card, the theme is reflected in the sentiment: “doors” and “walls” are associated with “home” :o)

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day :o)

Paper craft project no. 306: Sweet friend one layer card

It’s time for a new sketch challenge at the STAMPlorations blog. It’s the last sketch challenge for the year and we’re making it a long one! The linky is open until December 28 and there’s no limit to how many times you can play. Oh, and we have a couple of extra special prizes too! Julie Beech of Crafted by Jules is our guest designer. I hope you’ll come check out the projects that Julie and the STAMPlorations girls made for the sketch!

For my one layer card, I stamped one of the trendy butterflies (new set!) and masked it before stamping the artsy sunflower and smaller butterfly. The sentiment is from Sugar Rush, the December/January stamp club set. I spattered a bit of mustard seed and faded jeans Distress inks and finished the card by running the side of my Japanese watercolor brush pen to create the artsy blue border. The card is rather bright for the season — and I did it because I was getting a little tired of the gloomy days and I needed something with bright, happy colors :o)

Linking up my card to these fun challenges: (1) Crafting When We Can #83 – Clean and Simple; (2) A Little Bit Crafty – CAS; (3) Sister Act #84 – Anything Goes; and (4) Clear It Out – Anything Goes.

Thanks for stopping by!

Paper craft project no. 302: Thanks

I haven’t played in a while at The Paper Players so I thought I’d play this week! I also thought I’d make something that isn’t fall-ish so I ended up with this card. I stamped a woodgrain background on a panel and then sponged brown ink over it and around the edges. I also cut a small area on the panel where I want my sentiment to show through after stamping it on my card base. On pre-cut diecuts, I stamped two daisies and colored them with Spectrum Noir markers.

Linking up my card to these two other fun challenges: A Little Bit Crafty – Clean and Simple and Sisters of Craft – Anything Goes (entry #2).

Thanks for stopping by! Check back tomorrow at 6 a.m. PST (GMT -800) for a fun blog hop! :o)
