It’s stamp release month at STAMPlorations! Every day in the next 5 days, the other STAMPlorations girls and I will be sharing projects we created featuring the new stamps. Visit and leave a comment on all the stops on the hop for a chance to win.

FIVE (5) lucky hoppers randomly drawn from the designers’ blogs will each win a stamp set from the November release and ONE (1) lucky hopper randomly drawn from the STAMPlorations blog will win a $25 gift certificate to use towards products in the STAMPlorations shop. You have until Monday, November 25, 11:55 p.m. PST (GMT -800) to comment here and on my fellow designers’ posts for a chance to win. Winners will be announced on the STAMPlorations blog on Friday, November 28.

Today, we’re putting the spotlight on Rosebuds, the stamp set designed by Shirley Bampton. We’ll be picking one commenter to win this set so leave a comment here and on the rest of the STAMPlorations girls’ posts for a chance to win the set.

I just love the doodled feel of the stamps in this set, and I wanted to put the focus on the sweet bouquet. For my card, I cut a piece of watercolor paper, scored it in 1/2″ increments, and swiped Distress inks over it (frayed burlap, vintage photo, brushed corduroy, black soot) to create a faux wood panel. I mounted this onto my card base using foam tape. On scrap watercolor paper, I stamped the rose bouquet in jet black archival ink and die-cut a stitched oval frame from it. I used my Japanese watercolor brush pens to paint the roses and the background. I stamped the rosebud definition in yellow ink, and I repeated this on the card base before stamping the sentiment in Memento tuxedo black ink. And the card is done!

Now I hope you’ll visit the rest of the STAMPlorations girls’ blogs to see the projects they made showcasing this lovely set. Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you’re having a great week!

Paper craft project no. 300: Joyful wishes one layer card

Hello! Popping by today with a one layer card for the current challenge at Time Out Challenges, where it’s a Home Sweet Home Photo Inspiration challenge. We hope you can play with us…you have a week more to share your projects! Here’s the photo:

I was inspired by the wooden floor and crate so I mimicked those by scoring (embossing) the lower portion of my card base and then swiping various Distress inks (vintage photo, brushed corduroy, walnut stain) over it. Next, I stamped the gift image and colored with Chameleon Color Tones alcohol markers. I then masked it before stamping the holiday words in VersaMagic chalk ink (aegean blue). And the card is done :o)

Linking up my card to these fun challenges: (1) Stamping Sensations November Challenge – Simply Christmas; (2) Crafting When We Can #82 – Use Your Markers; (3) Love to Create #141 – Anything Goes; (4) Addicted to Stamps and More #121 – Anything Goes; and (5) Creative Card Crew #74 – Christmas Joy.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

PS: There’s a design team call for a new challenge that starts on January 6. If you enjoy making one layer cards and Christmas cards, please check it out here. Please feel free to pass the info along to anyone you think would be interested :o)
