Paper craft project no. 175: A note of thanks

2014-04-16 OLC A note of thanks
Here’s a one layer card I made while I waited for DH to finish working on the desktop that he built for me last week. (He is adding a DVD drive now after the part he ordered came in the mail Wednesday afternoon.) I’ve gotten spoiled at how fast the new system is that I don’t think I’ll want to go on road trips anytime soon because I’ll be stuck with my 2-year-old laptop. Hey, Photoshop opens in 7 seconds — that’s with all my actions, filters, brushes, and everything else — and prepping, editing, and compiling my videos take mere minutes now. It used to take me 3 hours to edit and compile one video.

Anyway, about my card — stamped the squares and flowers in yellow and soft purple, respectively. I added some spatters by flicking a wet brush against a yellow Inktense block. I stuck some pearls in the center of the flowers and gave the petals some sparkle by adding Diamond stickles on them. (Forgive me, I seem to be on a stickles kick lately since discovering the ziplock full of stickles in my stash when I was cleaning.)

The sentiment is from the Sentiment Builders (Thanks) series. It’s one of the 5 new sets from STAMPlorations that will be released in May. (The STAMPlorations design team will have a stamp release blog hop and be offering the new stamps as prizes. Follow the STAMPlorations blog if you’d like to be notified of when the hop starts.)

I based the design of my card on CAS(E) This Sketch #72 and the colors on the Dynamic Duos Challenge #98: Soft Purple and Yellow. And then there’s CASology Week 91, where I used the cue word “note” in my sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by!
