Paper craft project no. 130: Thank you so much

2014-02-04 CAS Thank you so much
It’s a brand new challenge at The Crafter’s Cafe Challenge blog! This week, we are sponsored by SquiggleFly and Treasured Times. And for my card, I used the Big Bloom digi stamps from SquiggleFly.

This week’s challenge is a recipe challenge and oh boy, I was pretty much intimidated by it. Luckily, I had a couple of weeks to mull over my DT card. I have never done a recipe challenge before. Okay, what’s the recipe? It’s to use 1 ribbon, 2 designer papers, 3 die cuts, and 4 pearls or rhinestones.

For my card, I channeled my inner Nonni, Vicki, and Sandie — 3 ladies whose styles and cards I so much admire. Nonni is insanely good at coloring images and using bling in her cards; Vicki is super-awesome at layering and using ribbons; and Sandie is just crazy good at creating CAS cards. So what happens when I turn to them for inspiration? This card! (Ladies, I hope I did ya’ll proud with this!)

I adhered 2 designer papers on my card base and then stuck my burlap ribbon. I skipped the bow — I’m not quite there yet — but trust me, that’s burlap ribbon on there. Next, I printed out the SquiggleFly Big Bloom images on watercolor paper and colored them with Distress markers. I fussy cut them and stuck them on my card with foam dots. I found 3 small die cut flowers from K & Company in my stash and used foam dots to stick them onto my card as well. Next, I stamped the sentiment (STAMPlorations) in black ink and then finished the card by affixing 4 pearls. (The Designer paper, burlap ribbon, and pearls are all from The Paper Studio.) And there you have it — my first recipe card and I think I managed to make it CAS. (I hope so!)

I’m entering this card to these fun challenges: Addicted to Stamps and More #81 – Anything Goes; CAS-ual Fridays #127 – Over the Edge (my burlap ribbon extends past the edge of my card); Papertake Weekly Challenge – Anything Goes; and Through the Craftroom Door – Anything Goes.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
