Paper craft project no. 110: Thinking of you

2014-01-11 CAS Thinking of you
Quickie post again — except for the one layer card I posted yesterday, I haven’t been able to make  cards all week so today, I went a little crazy. This is one of several cards I managed to make before I could no longer ignore the throbbing and burning pain on my right hand and I had to quit for the day. So :o)

I’m not really good at layering and all that stuff and this was the best I could muster *sigh* — card base, mounted embossed panel, and then a third layer of flowers and those die-cuts. This is the reason I stick mainly to one layer cards that have very little frills and embellishments. (The coloring I did on the 3 flowers was inspired by Nonni — I inked the stamp with markers and then used markers to shade the petals and leaves.)

The layout is based on sketch #3 on STAMPlorations (I flipped the sketch), and the embossed lattice background and orange-y color scheme are inspired by the photo over at Fusion. Since I used my thin dies, it fits the current challenge over at Addicted to CAS where the code word is “die cuts”. I also used markers (Memento markers and Distress markers), it fits the current Addicted to Stamps and More challenge — “make your mark”. And finally, the card fits the current challenge over at Make My Monday — Embossing.

Stamps: VIGNETTE: Eclectic Florals, VIGNETTE: Trendy Feathers [sentiment] (STAMPlorations)
Inks: Tangelo, Espresso Truffle, Cottage Ivy (Memento)
Markers: Tangelo, Tuxedo Black (Memento); Picket Fence (Ranger)
Paper: Watercolor Paper (Canson)
Other: Embossing Folder (The Paper Studio); Label Thin Dies (QuicKutz/Lifestyle Crafts); Glossy Accents (Ranger); Sequins; Foam Dots
Tools: Cuttlebug (Provo Craft); Corner Rounder Punch

Thanks for stopping by!
