Paper craft project no. 87: Merry & bright

2013-11-23 OLC Merry and bright
So today I started making Christmas cards for my mother-in-law that she’ll be mailing to people in her list. She needs a mix of 50 Christian and secular cards — to start. Needless to say, I’m going to be one busy girl this weekend trying to get her cards done so she can let me know if she needs more cards later in the week.

Here’s one of the cards I made for her — an A2 one layer card. The sentiment and holly stamps are Heidi Grace Designs stamps, while the hexagon and ink blots/spatters stamps are from STAMPlorations (Holiday Hexagons and Holiday Artsy). I used pigment inks from ColorBox (don’t know the exact color names but they’re shades of red, green, silver, and old gold), as well as Memento tuxedo black ink and bamboo leaves marker for coloring the holly leaves. I embossed the borders using my bone folder and score board, and then finished the card by rounding the bottom corners.

This card, incidentally, fits the current challenge over at CASology because it’s got bells! :-) I’m also entering this card to Inkspirational Challenge #44: Anything Inkspirational Goes.

Anyway, I’m keeping this blog post short and sweet because I’ve got Christmas cards to make! Thanks so much for stopping by.

PS: We have water! (You can read about our water woes in this post.) I am so thankful that DH and I didn’t have to stay in a motel this weekend. And may I just say, one two of the sweetest and most reassuring sounds in the world are the toilet flushing and the subsequent refilling of the water tank ;-)
