One Layer Card No. 24: Retro Happy Birthday

2013-08-01 One Layer Card Retro Happy Birthday Card

A2 card using direct and layer stamping, repetition, and second-generation stamping techniques.

Stamps: retro squares (Hero Arts); sentiment (STAMPlorations)
Inks: tuxedo black (Tsukineko Memento Dye Ink);  broken china, pine needles, barn door, mustard seed (Tim Holtz Distress ink)

To create this card, I used four different retro square stamps and stamped each randomly in different distress ink colors, starting from the top of the card and down in a cascading manner (like confetti).  Some of them look faded, which I did by stamping them lightly on scrap paper before stamping on the card. Once I was happy with the look of the retro square “confetti”, I stamped the sentiment.
